Carnival Of Fire Heating...

Families looking for something a bit different these school holidays might want to add this one to the list. A travelling fire performance show is heading to Morayfield, bringing a mix of live music, dance, acrobatics and fire acts to the shopping centre across the holiday week.

The show, called Carnival of Fire, is a fast-paced performance that runs for about half an hour and is designed to be easy for families to drop in and watch while they’re already out and about. Expect drumming, performers, and fire displays all rolled into the one show, with a pretty strong focus on visual entertainment and high-energy performances.

It’s being held inside the shopping centre atrium, which makes it a good option if the weather turns or if families are trying to escape the heat or keep the kids busy without spending a fortune. The performances are free and run twice a day across the week, so there’s plenty of chances to catch it without needing to book ahead.

School holidays can get expensive pretty quickly, so free events like this tend to draw a decent crowd, especially in busy retail areas where families are already doing shopping, grabbing lunch or just trying to fill in a few hours. Events like this are becoming more common in shopping centres around Moreton Bay, as they try to turn the centres into more of a destination during holiday periods rather than just a place to shop.

The timing lines up with the Easter school holidays, which usually see a stack of local events, activities and workshops running across the Moreton Bay region to give families more low-cost things to do.

If you’re planning a trip, the shows are running daily from April 6 to April 12, with performances at 11am and 1pm each day at Morayfield Shopping Centre.
